Datasets available

General Materials Data

MAP_DATA_ADI_RETAINED-AUSTENITE
The dataset contains 1910 X-ray diffraction measurements of retained austenite in austempered ductile cast iron (ADI) for a large number of cast iron compositions and heat treatments.

MAP_DATA_AUSTENITIC_STMECH
The yield and ultimate tensile strength data on austenitic stainless steels as a function of test temperature, chemical composition and heat treatment temperatures.

MAP_DATA_CREEP_RUPTURE
Provides 2066 creep rupture test results of steels (mainly of two kinds of steels: 2.25Cr and 9-12 wt% Cr ferritic steels).

MAP_DATA_FAT_NI_MAT
Provides data on the fatigue crack growth rate in nickel base superalloys.

MAP_DATA_SURFACE_TENSION
This code calculates the variation of surface tension and temperature dependence of surface tension (surface tension coefficient) with temperature for the following cases: (a) pure iron and (b) Fe-S binary alloy system, with a given sulphur content.


Weld Metal Properties

MAP_DATA_HARDFACE
Provides composition and microstructure data for hard facing alloys produced by several methods.

MAP_DATA_WELD
Provides chemical composition and mechanical property data for a collection of all weld metal deposits.

MAP_DATA_WELD_HOT_MAT
Contains data on the solidification hot cracking of welds in impure low-alloy steels.

MAP_DATA_WELD_INCLUSIONS
Provides chemical and geometrical data on oxide inclusions in low-alloy, ferritic steel welds.

MAP_DATA_WELD_MAT
Contains weld metal chemical analysis data (wt% and ppm by wt) and Charpy toughness values (in Joules).


Transformations Databases

MAP_DATA_AC
Provides dilatometric data on the austenite transformation of wrought steels and weld deposits on heating at differing rates.

MAP_DATA_AC_MS
Provides dilatometric data on the austenite transformation (on heating; three different rates) and the martensite transformation (on rapid cooling) of wrought steels and weld deposits.

MAP_DATA_ADI_KINETIC
Provides dilatometric data on the kinetics of bainite formation in nodular iron for different austenitising temperatures and times, and austempering temperatures.

MAP_DATA_AUSTENMAT
Provides data on formation of austenite in steels.

MAP_DATA_BAINITE_ISO
Provides kinetics of isothermal bainite transformation at 375, 416 and 450íC for a steel of composition: Fe-0.11C-1.50Si-1.53Mn-0.008P-0.006S-0.043Sol.Al-0.035 wt.%.

MAP_DATA_BAINITE_NORM
Provides normalised kinetics of isothermal bainite transformation at 416íC for a steel of composition: Fe-0.11C-1.50Si-1.53Mn-0.008P-0.006S-0.043Sol.Al-0.035 wt.% after intercritically annealing at 750íC for 1 min, 4 mins or 1 hour.

MAP_DATA_BAIN_MECH_MAT
Provides dilatometric data on the mechanical stabilisation of the bainite transformation when it occurs in plastically deformed austenite and on the martensite start temperature of the austenite which is left untransformed after completion of bainite transformation at 475 degrees centigrade.

MAP_DATA_CONTINUOUS_COOLING
Provides dilatometric data on the bainite transformation in bainitic steels continuously cooled at 0.1íC/s between 50íC above the predicted bainite start, and the predicted martensite start temperature.

MAP_DATA_DILATATION_1CrSTEEL
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation from austenite of 1Cr steel during continuous cooling at different cooling rates.

MAP_DATA_DILATATION_2CrSTEEL
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation from austenite of 2Cr steel during continuous cooling at different cooling rates.

MAP_DATA_DILATATION_10CrSTEEL
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation from austenite of 10Cr steel during continuous cooling at different cooling rates.

MAP_DATA_DILATATION_35NiSTEEL
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation from austenite of 35Ni steel during continuous cooling at different cooling rates.

MAP_DATA_DILATATION_FSTEEL
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation from austenite of 'F' steel during continuous cooling at different cooling rates.

MAP_DATA_FORGING_ISO
Provides dilatometric data on the isothermal decomposition of austenite at 973 K, 913 K and 873 K in a medium carbon microalloyed forging steel of composition: 0.37C - 1.45Mn - 0.56Si - 0.04Cr - 0.025Mo - 0.11V - 0.14Cu - 0.015Ti. Data for two different prior austenite grain sizes are supplied.

MAP_DATA_HCM2S
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation of austenite during continuous cooling at different (constant) cooling rates, for a power plant steel known commercially as HCM2S. The steel is manufactured by Sumitomo Metals in Japan and is used for making boilers in power plant.

MAP_DATA_MS
Provides dilatometric data on the martensite transformation of wrought steels and weld deposits on rapid cooling.

MAP_DATA_MS_2004
A database for the Ms temperature of steels as a function of chemical composition.

MAP_DATA_SEGREGATE
Provides dilatometric data on the transformation of austenite during continuous cooling at different (constant) cooling rates, for a chemically segregated steel and its homogenised equivalent. The homogenised steel was heat treated at 1200 oC for 48 hours in order to minimise concentration gradients.

MAP_DATA_THERMEC_DILAT
Provides dilatometric data on the martensitic transformation when it occurs in elastically or plastically deformed austenite.


Neural Networks

MAP_DATA_LATTMISFIT
Provides data necessary to create a neural network model to predict lattice mismatch in nickel-based superalloys.

MAP_DATA_NEURAL_MS
Provides a database giving Ms data for steels of various composition, and a trained neural network model (provided as a spreadsheet) for calculating Ms temperatures for steels of arbitrary composition.

MAP_DATA_WELDHOT
Complete dataset of weights for neural network analysis of solidification cracking of welds.

MAP_DATA_WELDNEURAL
Complete datasets for neural network analysis of weld toughness.

Thermodynamic Data

MAP_DATA_MTDATA_CAPILLARITY
To allow calculation of capillarity corrected equilibrium with thermodynamic calculation software such as MT-DATA.
