AIMS AND SCOPE

The Smart Processing Technology aims to develop advanced processes for materials with improved performance or new functions thorough supplying necessary energy and resources only to required portions, thereby contributing to the establishment of next generation manufacturing that can encourage industries to have the minimum impact on the environment. The First International Symposium on Smart Processing Technology was held in 2005 to discuss of the arts and future of smart processing technology for the 21st century. In 2007, The Second International Symposium (SPT'07) will be held to exchange the latest research information and continue discussion in Osaka.

The symposium will be held at Hotel Hankyu Expo Park near Osaka University. Kyoto, Nara, Kobe and Kansai International Airport are within two hours by trains.

PROGRAM

The organizing committee programmed 68 oral presentations including 20 invited lectures and 54 poster presentations. About 140 speakers and co-authors will attend to this symposium form 13 countries. The session program and symposium timetable can be downloaded as PDF file (288kB).

PRESENTATIONS

The symposium office will provide a laptop computer, and LCD projector in each technical session room. Presentation times including discussion are 30 and 15 minutes for invited and general speakers, respectively. Poster session will run for 60 minutes from 16:30 to 17:30 on November 27, 2007. The poster number will help you in locating your space at the poster session. The conference will provide a display board that is 115 cm tall and 85 cm wide.

PUBLICATION

Authors are invited to submit paper(s) for the symposium proceedings to be published by the High Temperature Society of Japan. One hard copy of the original manuscript as the camera ready format, with two photocopies should be submitted to the registration desk on the first day of the symposium. The manuscripts will be subjected to peer review. The instructions will be sent to the primary author after their abstract has been accepted by the symposium committee.
