Visualization of complex phenomena in material processing through advanced measurements and simulation provides us critical information for acquiring scientific understanding of the mechanism that assists to develop new technology. The International Symposium on Visualization in Joining & Welding Science through Advanced Measurements and Simulation (Visual-JW) was firstly held in 2010, organized by Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University. The 5th international symposium (Visual-JW 2019) & the 8th International Conference of Welding Science and Engineering (WSE 2019) are held aiming at further development of the research field. Also, special Symposium on the Research Activities of Joint Usage/Research Center on Joining and Welding will be held. We will welcome participants from all over the world to this academic event.
